  • Renaming of the Institute of Economics at BAS

    In connection with the running structural changes in BAS and restructuring of its units, with decision of the General Assembly of BAS on its 36th meeting on 20th May 2010, since 1st July 2010 the Institute of Economics at BAS is renamed to Economic Research Institute at BAS. The address remains the same: Sofia 1000, Aksakov street 3. The bank accounts also remain the same.

Scientific priorities

The Institute of Economics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is a national institution, which supports the economic development and the realization of economic reforms in Bulgaria through scientific studies, evaluations and suggestions for economic policy and education of highly qualified specialists and researchers. To realize more successfully its mission in the new conditions, the Institute has made a reevaluation of the priorities of research activity. More


Scientific organization

Research activity of the Institute is realized in four stationary scientific departments. The program organization of the research activity is also well developed and is realized by program teams, including also scientists from other organizations, formed to solve concrete economic problems. Ph.D. studies

The Institute of Economics at BAS has long-lasting traditions and is an acknowledged center for training Ph.D. students.

 


Ph.D. students

Ph.D. training in the Institute of Economics at BAS is an important part of its activity and aims at preparation of highly qualified staff for scientific work and economics practice. The applied education forms correspond to the best practices of leading universities in the world. Read more


Master’s students

The institutional cooperation between BAS and the universities follows the contemporary trends in the development of the integration between the universities and the research organizations. The training of students in joint programs with the institutes at BAS is most appropriate for the educational degree "Master".
